Solar Rooftop Electrical System Standards - The "back-end" aspect of business operations that business owners shouldn't overlook
Many times when I talk to entrepreneurs, the first questions are often, "How many years will it take to recoup the investment?" or "What brand of solar panels should I use?" Of course, these are important questions, but as an expert, I want to encourage you to look deeper. Because the key to ensuring your multi-million baht investment operates safely and continuously for 25 years isn't just the panels themselves, but the "electrical system."
These are three strategic engineering points that Energy X prioritizes to protect your business.
1. Pre-work assessment of the main distribution board (MDB).
The existing electrical panel in your factory or office building is like the heart that pumps blood throughout the body. When we install solar panels, we are adding a new "energy source" to the existing system.
Risk: If the existing electrical panel is not compatible or the tie-in connections are poorly done, heat can build up and cause a fire.
Energy X Standard: Our engineers will conduct a detailed survey and calculate the electrical load. If the existing system is at risk, we will immediately provide an improvement plan to ensure that the solar panel connection does not interfere with the operation of the main machinery in your factory.
2. Protective devices must be of industrial grade only.
On days with lightning strikes or power surges, the solar power system is the first line of defense.
Equipment Selection: We use surge protection and breakers specifically designed for solar PV systems and that meet international standards (e.g., IEC).
Result: In the event of an unforeseen incident, the system will immediately cut off the power to protect the inverter and electrical appliances in your building from damages amounting to hundreds of thousands or millions of baht.
3. Durable wiring and conduits that can withstand all conditions.
The sun in Thailand is very intense. The electrical wires on the roof have to withstand high temperatures all day long.
